Ryan House is a residence for homeless and at risk teenage boys ages 16 thru 21 years of age offering an alternative to street living or dysfunctional family life.  We provide a secure environment to give our boys a chance to make proper decisions and build the esteem necessary to be contributing members of  society.  Ryan House provides more than a roof over our boy’s heads, we offer a structured and caring atmosphere with informal counseling as well as work and educational opportunities.  A licensed by New York State Department of Family Services residence.

Objectives of the Program

To provide approximately six youths at one time with up to twelve months of housing in a closely supervised setting where they would be responsible for the cooperative management of their residence and where they would be trained in independent living skills;

to provide mandatory educational services either in public high schools to obtain a diploma or  in a GED program which leads to the obtainment of a high school equivalency diploma, to help pursue job training skills and the option to go to college.

Counsel, advise and direct the individual on issues of antisocial and self destructive behavior, self-esteem, sexuality, motivation, and depression.

to provide when necessary a psychological evaluation and treatment plan with our mental health liaison to ensure proper services and treatment

Residents are assured of an immediate Medical, Dental and Eye assessments

Residents are ensured of immediate job placement and while attending school are paid minimum wage for every hour they attend school weekly.  In effect they are paid to work and attend school.

Case management is an Integral part in developing the proper and most effective care of the residence.  Each resident does monthly goals and a service plan is done every 90 days to assess the progress or lack there of with the resident.  All residents have a uniform care record better known as a "UCR".

Residents have many recreational opportunities available to them; basketball court, hand ball court, extra large yard for baseball, football, etc.  Residents are taken on outings weekly weather permitting; movies, go-carts, batting range, fishing, camping, hiking, the beach, golf range, the mall, bowling, out to eat!  (weight room, game room in the house etc.)
